WELCOME
BEAR CREEK REGIONAL RESERVOIR AND TREATMENT PLANT FACILITY
Barrow, Clarke, Jackson, and Oconee Counties in Northeast Georgia are among the fastest growing in the nation. In a model of cooperation, leaders of these four counties joined forces to construct a reservoir and accompanying treatment plant. Their efforts, recognized on the state and federal levels, are critical to providing a water supply to meet existing and future needs. The Bear Creek Reservoir includes some 505 acres and has a storage volume of five billion gallons. The treatment plant currently has a capacity of 21 million gallons per day (MGD) and may be expanded in the future to 42 MGD. Treated water is provided to Barrow, Jackson, and Oconee Counties, while Clarke County receives raw water for processing at its existing facilities. We welcome your visit, and hope that the project information and resources provided on this site are useful.
